I've spent the last week or so researching the Church of Humanity, those lovely, lovely bastards picketing the mutant drop-in center that's been in the news on and off lately, the one in the Bronx with the egg-head sponsoring it. What I've managed to find is that these are the sort of people who make the FOH look sane - they picket funerals for mutants or people who were known to be 'mutant sympathisers', they send the worst kind of religious mouth-frothing you can imagine to groups like Red X, they try to get anything even vaguely pro-mutant banned from schools... And the website - I don't recommend looking at that unless you've skipped lunch.

All that and no links to any kind of violence, tho', at least not that I could find. All talk, apparently.

Makes you wonder what God thinks of these kinds of wankers, spreading this kind of shite in His name.

That folks who claim to speak for the Almighty often are the kind that don't really spend much time talking to him. Place for a church to be doing its talking is in the pulpit and pews, not out causing a ruckus on the streets.

Jesus had a great deal to say about people needing to remove the stick in their eye before going after the splinter in their neighbor's eye. And there was a reason that he was furious and destroyed a marketplace outside a Temple.

There is a saying. "Please stop being on my side, you are making us look bad." It applies to these people to extreme measures.

And the reason they're not physically violent is that they know that not is it only against the law, but the second someone lays a finger on them, they'll cry assault and try to get those dirty muties arrested.

Pretty much, yeah. That Doctor Lee's visiting the place tomorrow, to see how things have improved with the extra funding, and you can bet the CoH will be all over the publicity.

Ahhh. Yes. Them. I've had a few run ins with them in my time. They had a mixed reception in the FOH; most, including myself, just thought they were religious idiots but there were some who would do double duty between the two groups.
