Not exactly a holiday resort...

But then again I weren't expecting one. Might be spring break for everyone else, but according too Rom, I've got some serious work to be done.

Landed sometime this morning and Pete ran me out to this place. I ain't really sure what to call it - it's a kind of occult commune, for want of a better term, 'cept I don't like using that one because that makes the people here sound like a bunch of mushroom eating hippies who never made it out of the 60s. And they ain't - one bloke, Craig, is a technomage, does stuff with computers and magic, works as a programmer freelance. He's the one who hooked up me laptop for me. And no, he ain't about to crack the system and leak our secrets to the world - Pete knows about him already from Rom and she asked him nicely not to. And then she put a geas on him so he couldn't. He's promised to show me how to use these things better, without blowing them up, or sending them to another dimension and whatnot.

Of course, some of them are mushroom-eating hippy types, but it don't mean they don't know their stuff. Rom wouldn't have brought me here if they didn't.

I should be sleeping, or at least that's what Rom wanted me to do when she sent me up here. But it feels like I've been sleeping solid for the past three days - have, come to think of it. Things are starting to get... clearer over here. Something about being on home ground. Of course, the fact there's enough ambient mystic energy in this place to take the edge off helps. She was a bit pissed off at Pete, when we turned up - guess I was still pretty out of it - but they're always disagreeing on something. Pete's off tonight on one of his 'business trips'. I hope he's careful.

Rom's set up a cleansing ritual for dawn tomorrow. Something to remove negative energy. I've been reading up on it - I have books! Magic books! Well, not spell books, but the other stuff, histories and descriptions and ethics and stuff - since there's some stuff I need to know beforehand, and it sounds pretty heavy. And it's skyclad, for fuck's sake. Dawn ritual, in March, in the fucking buff.

And I thought those stories about witches doing rituals with their kit off were just a bunch of religious types getting all hot and bothered...
