So this is what birthdays are like?
Apr. 14th, 2004 12:16 pmThe last time I enjoyed a birthday this much was when a bunch of me old mates in Brighton did over an off-licence and we had a party on the beach with a fire and all and Katie had lifted a cake from the supermarket. 'Course, we all got busted for being drunk in public...
Any way. Today. Is much better, and not just because it hasn't ended in a kicking from the old bill in the Brighton nick. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, and Clarice, thank you for _not_ glittering my part of the room. And I have to say, it was amusing to watch Jane's reaction. I think you've unleashed a secret glitter demon...
And there was the bonus of three classes off - I spent the math study hall with Artie and Miles. We _did_ get the work done, and after that I was teaching them some tricks. No actual magic, just sleight of hand stuff, disappearing pennies and card tricks. And sorry if they're a bit hyper later, Rom's birthday present (a spellbook and a shirt that isn't black, hmmm, I'm sensing a conspiracy here...) included a block of English chocolate, and I don't eat the stuff much, and the munchkins liked their reward for getting Sarah to Brighton so much last time I figured it was going to a good home.
Oh, and despite what your eyes might have told you, that was _not_ me pouncing on Pete this morning after the post came. Niope, no way. Even if his present was absolutely brilliant - a box from this place, including some t-shirts - I'm wearing the "Jesus Hates Me" one now - and more buttons and stickers than I can count. I've been laughing me head off at them all morning, and once I go through 'em all, you can bet there will be some redistributing of wealth. ;) And there was a copy of "England's Dreaming: Anarchy, Sex Pistols, Punk Rock, and Beyond" by Jon Savage as well, which _is_ pretty close to the real thing. Thanks, 'Uncle'.
Nate, I've got study hall this afternoon instead of History and Geography - mind if I drop by? And yeah, Homily's potions are a bit like that if you ain't used to 'em. I figured since you're so much bigger than me the usual dose would be okay. *wry grin*
