McCoy's ban stopped other people asking for magic. I'm trying to cut back on the stuff I do for myself, for that whole balance/rules reason that everyone shoves down my throat. Sure I could have said no to McCoy's ban, but I can't make other people ask for help, or accept it if I offer it. So if the ban held, and other people stuck to it, no magic. Get it?
He explained, when I yelled at him, that he wasn't stopping me from doing spells, just from other people asking. Thing is, he didn't know about the whole 'unselfish use of magic' side of things, since science can't get you damned to a hell dimension or something if you do it for the wrong reasons.
