My turn: Ten Things I've Learned

Been thinking about this on and off all day. Ten things I've learned since I got here.

1) America is a deeply fucked up place. This isn't always a bad thing.

2) Dressing up nice doesn't mean not being myself. Except in the case of Asgardian sorceresses.

3) Punk is not the only music in the world. Just the best. ;)

4) Love hurts just as much as I always thought it would, but generally it's worth the effort.

5) I can be one hell of a jealous bitch. And there is no excuse to throw your classmates into walls. Ever.

6) Being called a potty mouth by a seven year old is actually sort of embarassing.

7) Reading can be fun, even when it's not a spell book.

8) I like my boyfriend. A lot. Even though sometimes he's a plonker.

9) Sharing a room means not helping yourself to whatever you feel like out of your room mate's stuff, even if I don't care if they do the same to me. And I don't have to stash food when there's a full fridge downstairs in the kitchen.

10) I don't know half as much as I thought I did when I got here, but I know more than I give myself credit for sometimes.

Although asking first is always polite. And that's another thing I've learned! Table manners! Not wiping my nose on my sleeve! All those other things that give you and Manuel the screaming horrors! *grins*

Well, once someone explained the outside-in arrangment with the cutlery, yeah, it wasn't hard. Chopsticks are stil beyond me, tho'. And I'm still working on that whole 'don't inhale your entire plate of food in one breath' thing that gets me stared at when Manuel and I go out. *rolls eyes*
