The Care and Feeding of Meggans
Since I'm getting people interested in kid-sitting, and once I start classes again I'll have to take up those offers, a couple of things you need to remember when you are looking after her. Learned the hard way. ;)
Food - Meg won't eat unless you put something in front of her and tell her it's for her. And she won't tell you she's hungry unless you're me. ;) Oh, and she will eat herself sick, so watch the portions. Healthy stuff, too - she's still malnourished and there's a bunch of vitamin deficiencies, so we're being careful to make sure she gets the most she can out of what she eats. So easy on the chocolate and sugary treats - dried fruit and the like is much better.
Naps - She's still napping a lot - the docs say she's developing pretty quickly, catching up as it were. She likes to have someone there when she sleeps, and generally won't go to sleep unless someone's touching her. She's still in that whole "it's all a nice dream" stage, and she's afraid we'll be gone when she wakes up.
Language - Meggan's learning more English words every day, but if there's something you don't understand, Kurt, Doug or I should be able to help. Gestures work too, and she copies everything.
I'll always have my phone on me if I'm not with her, so if there's any problems, even small ones, call me and I'll be right there. If it's an emergency, get Kurt - he can teleport and I can't.
