Schedule of Doom
Jun. 10th, 2005 06:29 pmSo, I failed my finals. To be expected, but I'm not going to sit around and whinge and complain - what I've been doing since my last exam is talking to a bunch of teachers and getting help and making decisions, and what's come out of it is the Schedule of Doom. Which I'm sticking up here for a couple of reasons. One so I don't forget and people can poke me and call me a lazy bitch if they don't see me sticking to it, and two so I can ask for help and people can see where I need it and what I need helping with. More on that in a sec.
Monday - Friday:
Four hours of schoolwork each day, 1 1/2 hours in the morning, 1 1/2 in the afternoon, 1 in the evening.
Some of the English'll be supervised with Shan, since she'll be teaching Meggan for an hour each morning at the same time. Biology and maths Doc McCoy's giving me worksheets and stuff for, so Doug and Kitty and Moira can probably expect a shout for tutoring helpif when I need it. History's the same thing with Nate.
Driving lessons with Mr Summers on Tuesdays and Thursdays, an hour each time. Depending on what Meggan wants on the day, she's either with me then or with someone else.
Powers training with Moira Mondays and Fridays, again for an hour. Definitely needing Meggan-sitting for
that one.
Saturday:
Strange's class 9-12pm. Remy's put his hand up general for driving me in, especially after what happened earlier this week. It means I tend to have the afternoons in the city since he's usually tied up with things straight after. Back usually around four. But part of the whole driving lessons thing is so I don't have to make people take me 'round places all the time.
Sunday:
Day off. Nate said it was important to have one, and so Sunday's it. Anyone sees me with anything that looks like a textbook or magic book, you've got permission to take it away and make me do something fun.
Now, as you can see, I've got a bit on, tho' I've tried to spread it out so I have time with Meggan, like meals. Got those all covered, except Saturdays. But I'm going to need help, and not just with the study thing. Meggan's going to be needing not just sitters, but people to help teach her the stuff she needs to get her up to speed before classes start. Shan and Doug have got teaching her English and reading and writing and the like covered, and I've been trying to teach her numbers as well as her alphabet, but I need someone who knows about flash cards and educational games and the like since the way I learnt isn't going to be helpful here. And about the journals and computers and stuff - I've tried to explain, but she really needs to get a handle on words more before that happens. Hell, I don't know if she'd be ready yet, but even one of those telepathic cram sessions might help.
What happened on Tuesday and what people have said since made me realise I can't do this alone, and I need to get used to asking for help. So, this is it. Me with a plan, and asking for help, and not sitting around feeling stupid while everyone else around me gets on with things.
Yes, the world is ending. *grins*
