Seems like it's a month for firsts

This has to be the First St Patrick's Day that I've been sober and home for... a while. But here I am, jumping online and checking what you lot have been up to before I head to bed with a bit of light reading: Ashcrofte's Historie of Wytchcraft. Just hope I don't fall asleep with the bloody thing still open, or it'll crush me to death in me sleep.

(I worked out something - me spelling's so bad because I learnt to read things like this first. Too bad we can't have stuck with the old spellings, eh?)

Ain't got a lot of news. I've been studying me arse off, which is actually interesting, but I think mainly to me and not you. Oh, and Rom let me cast some spells today, nice little basic ones. She wanted to see how much mystic energy it actually takes for me to do stuff. The way she screwed up her face, it looks like not enough. Weather she likes it or not, I'm going to have to learn and cast harder spells, since they use more power and stop me from going 'boom' again. Double-edged pointy thing - the big spells use a lot of power, but they also have a lot of impact, both on me and everyone else. Looks like I'll have to watch meself.

You know what would be nice right now? A Guiness. But there ain't no way I'm going to be able to talk Homily into letting me 'pollute the temple of my body' that way. *humphs*

Pete's off on one of his trips and won't be back before I hope to leave here. And I see the people over here on Friday, before they fly out Monday. And after that its just me and the mushroom-eaters. For another week.

If you're reading something with the ability to crush you to death if you doze off during enlightened reading, best way to do it is to lay on your side with it propped up on a pillow next to you. That way, you fall asleep and no fear of dieing in the middle of the night.
