I just got a call from Barry Schwartz, the bloke who owns Stonewall Farm, the horse place where they had the fire. He's needing some extra help in the stables, and wanted to know if I wanted to come over in the mornings for a week or two. He said Red, the groom I met during the fire, had mentioned me.

I smell a conspiracy, but right now? I don't care. It's horses, dammit.

Job starts after this bank holiday weekend you lot have, on Tuesday. I'll be gone mornings, until about lunchtime.

Um, anyone who can drive willing to give me a lift?

I'd offer to drive you, but, well, driving's going to be just a tad awkward for the next few weeks. ::points to cast:: I'm sure we can get someone to do it, though.

*nods* I was surprised that Red still remembered me, considering everything. And it's just the ticket - Strange says I need some time away from the books.

As long as we're not in a massive hurry, I can drive you, at least some mornings. Been meaning to get more driving practise in and this means I can stretch my legs a little as well.

He's my baby, that's for sure. Just don't let him hear you say so, the boys got quite an ego.

(I seem to pick them that way, don't I?)

Anyway, it's almost summer now. I'll have a ton more time for him right soon. Maybe get him ready for some of the autumn jumping competitions.
