So, first week's nearly up and I've got homework coming out me ears. I'm not the only one, tho' - haven't seen a lot of Manny lately, and when I do, he's glaring at some book or other. *grins* Sounds like me with the maths and science. Tho' chemistry-type stuff ain't that much different from potions - you add the bits together to get a result. Hmm, wonder if some of my spells would work in that class...

Oh, Pixie, if you're still having trouble with the Arabic, want to come over and I'll help you with the homework? And you can help me with the First Aid stuff - I'm still figuring out this whole nervous sytem chart Cecilia gave us.

And I still have to arrange clubbing. Bugger, forgot. *opens email account*

sounds good, Amanda, I'll be over a bit later after I finish my math. why is it I feel like I'm doing 2 sets of math problems from 2 different books? I swear, physics is math in disguise.

it's like theory's of how things move and math to prove the theory.

supposed to help me with teleportation or soemthing. I'm willing to give it a shot.

Physics is math in disguise, and chem is physics in disguise, and bio is chem in disguise. It all comes down to math in the end.

*sigh* you take the fun out of bio, you know that?

more than my 500lbs textbooks even. and that's a lot.

and the worst part is, I think you're right

Chemistry is hard when they want you to tell them in the little letters and numbers what you will get when you mix things.

It is easier to just mix them. :)

or use words.

sulfur + acid = sulfuric acid.

makes much more sense that way.

I am not sure it works like that...

no, it doesn't really. but it still makes more sense to me.

But do you have to memorize silly abbrevations for the herbs or can you call them by their normal names?

Well, yeah, but sometimes just mixing them is bad. I mean, for example, it is a lot less messy to just write "Boom!" when asked what you get when you mix Cs with H2O than it is to actually blow up the lab.

If you need a hand figuring the chart out, just let me know - getting you guys to pass is the goal, after all.

why just passing?

why can't you help us make an A?

That's what classes are for, Clarice. Out of the classroom, I can help you better understand the material, but I'm not doing your work for you.

I know that. I go to classes, take notes, even do homework.

but understanding and passing are different. and I make As when I understand.

Then you have nothing to worry about.

and how did that make sense again?

If you come to classes, take notes, and do your homework, it follows that you'll learn the material that I'm teaching you, and thus, should have no problem passing my class - or, yes, even managing to ace it.

Nothing wrong with study buddies. I'm just offering extra help if she needs it. I'm lead to understand that's my job, as a teacher.

And you know where it is.

You need help, I'll give it to you.

All you have to do is make some effort to get it.
