The fucked-up rollarcoaster ride that is addiction...

This week's been one of the less-fun ones of my life, but there's been some good to it as well. I haven't had a fix since... Tuesday two weeks ago now, which is pretty good considering this time it's a lot harder. No handy-dandy cleansing rituals, or Homily's potions, just willpower, the docs' medicines, and support from various people. One in particular. The cravings are still there, which explains why I've been keeping myself busy and away from people - I get cranky when I need a fix, and you lot shouldn't have to bear the brunt of it - but the physical withdrawal's just about done (bar the random bouts of shivering and feeling sick occasionally), and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.

Unless that's a train. *grins* Just joking.

Strange kept me hard at work all Saturday - that's why I passed out as soon as I got back in, Frenchie. Astral projection, sending my mind out of my body; it's all pretty hippy-sounding. It works, tho', although I can only manage the concentration for a few seconds before I start thinking about what's for lunch or my Arabic homework or something and BAM, back in my own body again. Oh, and I should warn people - there's a chance I might end up in people's dreams before I get the hang of this. Mostly those people I have some kind of connection with, and Strange is teaching me how to get the hell back out again, but just a warning. A bit like the 'paths when they're first learning to shield, I think.

Oh, and speaking of Strange - Frenchie, I did ask him about clairvoyance (the magical version of pre-cog) and he's drumming up some sources for you. And he said something about wanting to meet with you sometime, talk to you about it. No doubt he'll email you or something.

It feel so very _good_ to actually be helpful and not have it blow up in my face.

Of course, now that I've said that, we're actually going to be told that I'm probably violating her body and soul or that I'm rotting her brain from the inside out or something like that.

You are doing me good. I don't care what anyone else says about it, you _are_. You looked after me when I was vomiting my guts up every five minutes, you got me to eat, and you gave me the breathing space I needed to deal with the whole addiction side of things later, when my system was done with withdrawing. And since I can't hide anything from you, you know when I'm feeling shitty, or when I'm wanting a fix badly enough, and come and distract me. I wouldn't be getting through this without you, love.

And anyone with a problem with it can go fuck themselves sideways.

Yeah, it shocked the hell out of me when I discovered I had acquired a minion that wasn't my pretty half. Already knew I had him.

Nathan thought the same thing - that someone else seeing my dreams would help. (and to that end, my notebook is on my desk, unless Doug has it. He has been doing some translations for me) - I just do not want you to get stuck. Some of those dreams are... bizarre at best.

But since I'm grounded, I'll have to ask someone to go to the pet shop for me. :P Manny would go if I asked, but he needs transport. *makes pleading looks in you and Doug's direction* Could you two go for me? Frank would appreciate it, and it'd mean not finding him in your bed any more...

I hear you on the getting stuck. Strange is teaching me escape routes, which helps. But I'll mention it to him and we'll probably both end up seeing him when he comes next - either next session for me, or one of his visits to check on Illyana's magical levels.

I think that is probably a good idea. The last thing either of us needs is you being stuck inside my head. You would learn -far- too many things about Doug that no one besides me needs to know, besides.

And being in the bed when Frank steals it is the whole point. Lots of lovely body heat. Tho' I've found him in the bottom of my bed with my feet on occasion. Scared the shite out of me the first time. And lots of thanks for the shopping in my stead. Ironic, ain't it? I don't go off campus that much when I can, but when I can't, I keep wanting to. :P Only a couple of weeks to go, tho'. Party anyone? I'll be climbing the walls by then.

And now I have to go scrub my brain out with soap. There are some images of your friends that you really don't want.

...come down and see one of us. I know you don't like the medlab, but there's no reason for you to go through the discomfort if you don't have to. Especially if you're still having trouble eating - you can't afford to lose much more weight.

All that aside... you're doing well, kiddo. Moira's probably already told you this, but you have a lot of people who are proud of you, and are there to help you out when you need it.
