Okay, this probably isn't going to matter a bit to most of you, given the recurring drama that is my life, but after fuck knows how many special reports on the news (and does anyone else agree with me and think Trish Trilby is a right tart?) on the Columbia memorial coming up on Monday, I've decided something.

I'm going.

I don't expect anyone else to, but I sort of think it's the sort of thing HeliX should be making a showing to, at least to let people know all mutants aren't the sort that kill. Because that's the attitude some of these news blorks are starting to project, this whole "this wouldn't have happened if there weren't any rights for mutants" attitude which reads straight from an FoH handbook if you ask me.

But yeah, seeing how I was there that day and all, I'm going. Not just because I think some mutants should, but because it's the only way I'm going to get any sleep this week. I have to show those bastards I'm not scared of them. To show them I'm not going to let them control how I do things, Monday or any other day.

Edit: There was one other part, which I didn't mention since I wasn't sure how certain people would take it, but now they know, I can tell you all. I'm not just going to be there, I'm actually getting up and speaking. Strange arranged it for me, and I've been working on my speech the last few days. One of the things I'm going to say is that I'm a mutant, because I can see this turning into a 'victims of the evil mutants' thing, and I want them to know that there were mutants involved on the getting hurt side of things as well.

If that makes anyone uncomfortable, or worried about safety, that's fine, I'll understand if you don't want to go along. I'm going to have Strange and at least one teacher watching over me, and if I know the Captain, there'll be others too. Besides, this thing will be televised and crawling with police and FBI and the like - I really doubt anyone's going to be stupid enough to cause trouble, not even the FoH wankers.

I agree absolutely, (particularly about the Tilby woman, for God's sake. And did you see the latest editorial in the Bugle? I was so mad I wanted to set it on fire.) I'd like to join you, if I may?

I thought she was okay when she came here to do that special, but now I guess she just goes where the story is. :p

And I guess I should've invited you to my little barbecue, eh?

Definitely on board with this, Amanda.

-nod- It could very well just be she's doing what her bosses want, but at some point you have to want people to stand up and say "you know, that's wrong and I'm not doing/saying it."

And yes.

Well, and looking back, it's not that she said anything that wasn't true. It was just, y'know, one-sided.

As opposed to the Bugle, which is so full of crap I'm surprised the ink isn't brown. I think I saw another copy in the den and, y'know, half a matchbook is just sad. Care to join me? :)

Will be right there. Here's for firey catharsis.

Bet we could get John to make pretty pictures in the burning Bugle if we asked nicely.

Definitely. If there's one thing I learned before I had to quit Scouts, it's how fun it is to set things on fire.

And maybe if you asked nicely. :)
