Had to go and say it, didn't I? Guess who can't sleep?

So, I'm awake, I'm bored, and I'm thinking. Not a good combination at this time of... morning. I keep wondering if the only reason I've been doing so well is because of this place. And I'm nervous about coming back. I mean, I know I've started making headway with fixing things with people, but it's easy to do all the way over here, especially when there was the possibility of not coming back. And I know what I'm like when I'm stressed, what me first impulse is. 'S going to be hard, doing this clean.

Ain't nothing for it but to try, tho'.

Don't start second-guessing yourself, Amanda. The possibility's always there, but you need to focus on how far you've come, with your powers and with making amends. Look forward, not backwards. And definitely not sideways. Looking sideways is always the killer, especially when you're busy walking fine lines. (Hey, my sense of humor is coming back...)

I'll see you on Monday. We can see if this whole talking thing works as well in person as it does over email.

Like Nathan and Em said, Amanda, don't second-guess yourself. The stuff you're learning, that's from Romany and Homily and everyone there, but the willpower and resolve to make things better, that's all you. Romany and Homily couldn't have made any of the progress that you've made for you. You could have just curled up in a ball and given up on everything in spite of them.

So don't sell yourself short, okay? If you want, we can get together and sit and talk some when we all get home, okay?

Our environments always contribute to our mental states, luv, but they aren't solely responsible for it. You know I'm a stubborn bastard - if you need somebody for a safety net, so to speak, this is me volunteering. You just tell me what you need me to look out for, and I'll do it. Got a promise to keep, after all.. and I don't much fancy disappointing Rom. We'll make sure you do fine, luv.

Speaking of doing things clean.. does that count smoking? I'll be pouty if I'm out a smoking buddy, as envious as I might be at the same time.

As for Pete, I'm sure he's alright. He's more stubborn than I am.
